Tehran (ISNA) – Iranian taekwondo practitioner Nahid Kiani in the 57kg weight category defeated her British rival, winning the silver medal in the Rome Grand Prix competitions.
Kiani, who won the world gold medal last week in the -57 kg weight category, faced Jade Jones, the holder of two Olympic gold medals from the UK, in the final match in the Rome Grand Prix.
Kiani beat her British rival in two rounds, claimimg the silver medal.
The Roma 2023 World Taekwondo Grand Prix which has a qualification phase for the Olympics kicked off in Italy on Friday for three days.
