Iran Condemns EU-PGCC Claims on Sovereignty Over Islands

RoshanayRah-EN;؛

Iran (IMNA) – Baghaei characterized the statement as a blatant disregard for the principles outlined in the United Nations Charter, particularly emphasizing respect for national sovereignty and territorial integrity.

He asserted that the islands of Abu Musa, Greater Tunb, and Lesser Tunb are and will remain integral parts of Iran. “The use of deviant concepts or the repetition of false claims does not alter the reality,” he stated. The spokesman reaffirmed that these islands are inseparable from Iran’s territory, aligning with UN principles and the notion of good neighborliness.

Baghaei expressed disappointment that some regional countries are diverting attention from pressing issues, such as the ongoing genocide of Palestinians and aggression against Lebanon, by making unfounded territorial claims against Iran. He urged these nations to leverage their discussions with EU leaders—some of whom provide military support to Israel—to hold them accountable for their actions against Palestinians and to advocate for an end to violence.
