Iran (IMNA) – During a phone conversation with Pakistan’s Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Saturday, both leaders exchanged Eid al-Adha greetings. President Pezeshkian emphasized that Iran’s core policy is to promote de-escalation and foster global peace, with a particular focus on the Islamic world.
He welcomed Prime Minister Sharif’s invitation to visit Islamabad and stated he would instruct his administration to seek ways to enhance cooperation between the two countries.
Prime Minister Sharif, in turn, thanked Iran for its hospitality during his recent visit to Tehran and noted the productive discussions held on defense, security, economic, and other matters. He proposed that an Iranian delegation visit Pakistan to explore avenues for strengthening bilateral relations ahead of President Pezeshkian’s future visit.
Sharif also praised Iran’s stance on the Pakistan-India issue, reaffirming Islamabad’s commitment to dialogue with New Delhi to achieve peace and welcoming Iran’s potential role as a mediator.
