However, she clarified that a capital move is not imminent and requires prompt attention.
The notion of shifting the capital from Tehran has been under consideration for over three decades. Mohajerani noted that Tehran faces numerous environmental challenges, particularly regarding water resources, which complicates its viability as the capital. The government aims to address these issues while exploring the biological potential of various regions for future development opportunities.
