Iran (IMNA) – Both officials expressed satisfaction with the current collaboration and emphasized the need for expanded cooperation in areas of mutual interest, as reported by IRNA. Asif highlighted the strong fraternal ties between the two nations, which are rooted in centuries-old cultural and religious connections. He also acknowledged Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei for his steadfast support of oppressed nations.
In addition to meeting with Asif, Qoreishi and his delegation held discussions with Pakistani Secretary Defense Lt Gen Muhammad Ali HI in Rawalpindi, focusing on defense issues, border management, and counter-terrorism strategies. The talks were characterized as positive, with both sides reiterating their commitment to deepening cooperation.
The Iranian delegation also engaged with senior military officials, including the chief of the Air Staff and the deputy chief of the Naval Staff. This dialogue comes in the wake of a tragic incident where ten Iranian border guards were killed in Sistan and Baluchestan province by the terrorist group Jaish al-Adl, which has a history of attacks in the region.
