Iranian Foreign Ministry Spokesman Assesses Israel’s Human Rights Record Amid Gaza Tragedy

RoshanayRah-EN;؛

Iran (IMNA) – In a recent post on his official account, Kan’ani emphasized the painful situation in Gaza has tested the dedication of countries, institutions, and global bodies to their human, moral, legal, and international responsibilities concerning human rights.

The Iranian official also criticized countries claiming to support human rights for their lack of reaction to the brutal killings of two unarmed Palestinian youths by Israeli soldiers in Gaza. This reaction, according to Kan’ani, showcases the sincerity of these nations in their human rights advocacy.

His statement comes after a new video revealed Israeli soldiers shooting dead two unarmed Palestinian men in cold blood while they were trying to return to northern Gaza. The victims’ bodies were later buried in sand and rubbish by an army bulldozer. The incident was captured by long-distance cameras, showing Israeli troops firing at the two men who were apparently surrendering.

Hamas, the Palestinian resistance movement, has called on the International Criminal Court (ICC) to intervene and stop the systematic killing of Palestinians in Gaza, citing the Al Jazeera footage as evidence of Israeli crimes. The conflict between Israel and Hamas began on October 7, with Israel failing to achieve its objectives despite causing massive civilian casualties.
