Iran Slams Israel’s Aleppo Airstrikes, Calls for Global Accountability

Iran (IMNA)- Iranian foreign Ministry spokesman Nasser Kan’ani expressed that these attacks violate international laws and threaten regional and international peace. He urged the international community and the United Nations Security Council to take preventive measures and hold Israel accountable.

A number of Syrian civilians and military personnel were killed and injured in the Israeli aerial assault on Aleppo countryside. The Syrian official news agency SANA reported that the Israeli aggression coincided with airstrikes by foreign-backed terrorist groups from Idlib province. Kan’ani extended his condolences and called for global action to hold Israel responsible.

He stated that these attacks, coordinated with terrorist groups, are a “clear testimony to the support of the terrorist regime of Israel for terrorist groups and ideologies in Syria.” Israel’s aggressive actions have threatened the national security of Syria and jeopardized the security of the region for years.

Kan’ani pointed out that Israel’s defeat in Gaza is a desperate and failed attempt to continue and expand the crisis in the region to heal its humiliated image in front of the Palestinian nation and the resistance groups. He emphasized that dealing with Israel’s dangerous adventurism is an international and global responsibility.

Since October 7, 2023, Israel has unleashed its war on Gaza after the Palestinian resistance movement Hamas retaliated against the regime’s intensified atrocities. The Tel Aviv regime has imposed a “complete siege” on the territory, cutting off essential resources like fuel, electricity, food, and water for over two million Palestinians living there. Over 32,500 Palestinians have been killed, and nearly 75,000 injured since the start of the offensive.
