Iran (IMNA) – President Raeisi’s visit to Algiers, upon an invitation by Algerian President Abdelmadjid Tebboune, included bilateral meetings and participation in the 7th Gas Exporting Countries Forum (GECF) Summit of Heads of State and Government.
Raeisi praised Algeria for its anti-colonial stance and its support for the oppressed Palestinian nation, noting that the country’s position in Africa and North Africa holds special importance for Iran. He also emphasized the potential for enhanced economic cooperation between Iran and Algeria, citing the favorable market conditions for Iranian businessmen in Algeria.
Raeisi underscored Iran’s role as a regional hub due to its gas production and export capabilities, as well as its strategic relationships with countries in the Persian Gulf and Central Asia. Additionally, he commended the Iranian nation’s active participation in recent parliamentary and Assembly of Experts elections.
