President Raisi leaves Tehran for Venezuela

Tehran (ISNA) – At the official invitation of his Venezuelan counterpart, Iran’s President left Tehran for Caracas at the head of a high-ranking delegation with the aim of improving the level of relations with friendly countries.

On Monday, Ayatollah Ebrahim Raisi left Tehran for the capital of Venezuela, Caracas, and was seen off at the airport by First Vice-President Mohammad Mokhber and Supreme Leader’s Deputy for International Affairs Hojatoleslam val-Moslemin Mohsen Qomi.

On Monday evening, local time, the President will be officially welcomed by his Venezuelan counterpart, Nicolas Maduro, at the Miraflores Palace in Caracas.

During this trip, in addition to joint talks between high-level delegations and private negotiations of the Presidents, important documents of bilateral cooperation between Iran and Venezuela will be signed by the officials of the two countries.

Meeting the heads of commissions of the National Assembly of Venezuela and meeting with businesspeople of Iran and Venezuela are part of the plans of the President during his visit to the country.

Nicaragua and Cuba are the next destinations of president Raisi’s official visit to Latin America.

Ministers of defence and armed forces’ logistics, foreign affairs, petroleum, culture and Islamic guidance, and health and medical education are accompanying Ayatollah Raisi on this visit.
