Iran (IMNA) – Speaking at the 3rd Forum of Prime Ministers of the Eurasian Economic Union in Yerevan on Tuesday, Aref condemned the ongoing violence perpetrated by the Zionist regime against Lebanon and Gaza, stating that such actions are unacceptable and require immediate international reaction.
He emphasized that the Islamic Republic of Iran strongly condemns the brutal massacre of women and children in these regions and reiterated the necessity for a swift response from the global community.
Aref also highlighted Iran’s readiness to play a more active role within the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU), given its internal capacities. With Iran’s observer membership request set for finalization at the current meeting, he noted that political and economic ties between Iran and EAEU member states would be further strengthened.
The First Vice President pointed out that Iran has consistently demonstrated its reliability as a partner in the region, seeking to enhance political and economic relations at both bilateral and multilateral levels.
During the business dialogue event between Iran and the EAEU in Yerevan, discussions included topics on developing commercial, economic, and industrial cooperation. Since signing a preferential trade agreement in 2018, which covers approximately 862 commodity items subject to preferential tariffs, Iran has continued to strengthen its economic ties with EAEU member states.
Additionally, a Free Trade Agreement (FTA) was signed between Iran and the EAEU during the summit in St. Petersburg, Russia, in December of last year.
