Iran (IMNA) – Governor of the Central Bank of Iran (CBI) Mohammadreza Farzin and Governor of the Central Bank of the Republic of Turkey Fatih Karahan discussed ways to enhance monetary and banking cooperation between their countries on Monday.

During the annual OIC central bank governors’ meeting, Farzin and Karahan also addressed the current economic growth and inflation trends among OIC member states, while exploring the role of new technologies in electronic banking (e-banking).

The Organization of Islamic Cooperation comprises 57 member countries. In the first half of the current Iranian calendar year (March 21 to September 21, 2024), Iran’s non-oil trade with OIC member states reached $32.2 billion, reflecting a 14 percent increase compared to the same period last year.
